Best practices

Before every trip

Make sure your battery is charged and properly inserted in the seat tube.

Before inserting the battery into the seat tube, check that it is correctly oriented: the flat side should face the front of the bike.

Make sure the saddle locking mechanism is properly engaged.

Check tire pressure, between 3.0 and 4.0 bar.

Check brake operation.

As a reminder, the left lever controls the front brake and the right lever the rear brake.

Adjusting the saddle

Use the 6mm Allen key to loosen the saddle clamp, then move the saddle gradually until the correct height is reached.

To tighten, turn the wrench clockwise.

Do not adjust the saddle beyond the warning mark on the seat post. This is represented by a line around the perimeter of the tube.

The minimum saddle height corresponds to the position where the saddle is at its lowest stop on the saddle clamp. Please note, however, that close to the minimum, the hook allowing the saddle to tilt may be obstructed by the clamp.

info

Information

Generally speaking, the saddle is at the right height if your leg is straight when your heel is placed on the pedal.

Ride carefully

  • Your bike is designed to support up to 120 kg (including rider, accessories and other loads).
  • For example, reflectors are compulsory in France.in wet weather, braking distances may be longer.after intensive use, do not touch the brake discs, which may be hot.
  • We strongly recommend that you wear a helmet, as well as a high-visibility vest, especially at night.
  • At night, or during the day when visibility is limited, turn on the headlight and, if necessary, adjust its intensity via the app.
  • Note that the brake light comes on when braking.in case of imminent danger, use the bell.
  • The Voltaire bike is intended for urban use and is not suitable for use on uneven terrain or with unevenness such as hollows or bumps.

Sleep soundly

Activate Voltaire app notifications to be alerted to any suspicious movement.

Switch off the bike with the Voltaire app or NFC badge after use.

Attach the bike frame to a fixed point with an approved "FUB Deux-Roues" padlock so that the optional insurance offered by our partner Allianz can work.

Be responsible: don't ride drunk or under the influence.

Don't wear loose clothing that could get caught in the wheels or belt.

For a full charge

The battery can only be charged using the Voltaire charger supplied with the bike.

You can charge it directly from the charging port at the bottom of the seat tube, next to the left pedal.

If you wish to charge the battery at home, simply remove it.

A small push-button is located at the bottom of the seat tube, next to the charging port.

When pressed, the battery is secured and cannot be removed. You need to turn the key a quarter-turn clockwise to unlock it.

Then tilt the saddle forward and pull the battery straight out of the bike.

Be careful to put it back in gently.

info

Information

A full charge takes 2h30.

  2. GPS wake-up.
  3. Confirmation of attempted theft, if GPS position is modified.

Adjusting your frame

Adjusting the saddle

For optimum comfort, the position and orientation of the saddle can be adjusted as required. To do this, use the Allen key supplied in the bike's accessory box.

Adjusting the belt

The belt is tensioned by means of an eccentric housing located at the bottom bracket.

It is important to check the belt tension regularly with a frequency meter. If the belt vibrates at a frequency of 47 ± 2 Hz, the setting is correct. If the belt is loose and/or the belt tension is outside the tolerance range, contact customer service for repair before further use. It is important to follow a precise procedure so as not to damage the torque sensor located in the bottom bracket.

The eccentric housing adjustment screws and the bottom bracket locking screws must be tightened to the torque recommended in this manual in the "Tightening torque" section.

Adjusting the brake levers

Your Voltaire is equipped with two hydraulic disc brakes. To ensure optimum positioning of the brake lever, adjust the angle of the handle so that it provides a comfortable riding position. The clamping screw on the handlebar must be tightened to the torque recommended in this manual.

Check brake discs and linings regularly for wear, and replace if necessary.

Adjusting mudguards

The Voltaire is fitted with mudguards. Regularly check the mudguard attachment points and the distance between the tire and the mudguard: it should be at least 6 mm.

Wheels, rims and tires

Regularly check that wheels are not warped and that rim bottoms are in good condition. Tire pressure should be neither too low nor too high, and no foreign objects should remain in the tire. This could lead to premature component wear or tube bursting.

Front basket

Voltaire bikes can be supplied with a Pelago® front basket. The front basket supports a maximum weight of 15 kg, and all items loaded in the basket must be properly secured. Before each use, check that no objects can get caught in the wheel. The attachment points on the front fork must be checked regularly.

Rear luggage rack

The Voltaire can be fitted with a rear luggage rack, which attaches to the frame at the rear using eyelets. Always comply with the weight limit specified by the manufacturer.

Child seat

The Voltaire allows you to mount a child seat on the rear rack only. Child seats mounted on the seat tube are not compatible.

It is your responsibility to check that the seat complies with CE EN 14344 standards and is compatible with your luggage rack.

Installing accessories

Front and rear lights

ISO 6742-1 requires the use of approved lights such as those supplied with your bike.

You must therefore install them as soon as you receive your bike, in order to benefit from the integrated reflectors that are mandatory.

Reflectors

It also requires the bike to be fitted with orange reflectors visible from the side, which you must also install as soon as you receive your bike.
